Back. From right here.
wrongGeorge is a rock power trio in the truest sense, making their debut release nearly twenty years in the making. Best classified as heavy post-grunge alt-pop, wrongGeorge returns from the precipice of oblivion to bring hope infused rock to a world that could not be in more desperate need of it.
In the late 90s, John Fett (bass/vocals), David A Terry (guitar/vocals) and Chris Cooke (drums/vocals) set about their craft of writing and recording songs, rehearsing and playing shows, all in the drive to secure the record deal that would catapult them to not-quite obscurity. Drawing on all their angsty influences and their penchant for delivering the unexpected smack in the middle of otherwise pop constructs, wrongGeorge toiled away at the unthinkable; writing songs that appealed to their own sensibilities, sure that their dedication to said craft would help them find their audience.
At their live shows, fans gushed and applauded. The record labels, however, were less eager to enjoin their quest, unsure of how to market something with elements rightly described as unusual, far from the formulaic fare they had grown accustomed to marketing with limited success in the now burgeoning age of the mp3. By the time the band found themselves three signatures away from an actual deal, they had grown older and wiser; wise enough to realize that the success they sought would now mean extended and consistent time away from their young families.
They passed on the deal. They chose their families instead.
Over a decade and a half later, the newly recorded material still stands up as being of its time, and yet refreshingly timeless. In the age of vanishing guitars, wrongGeorge now returns to rock your faces off.
Enjoy, at your own risk.
